Christmas pageant
On stage
Singing Jingle Bells
On our wrists
Elastic bands with bells
Told to shake them
Merry tinkling sound
What fun
Leaving
Making way for another class
Woman
Probably a mother
Demanded I give her
My precious souvenir
Sister asked me to collect them
Reluctantly
She insisted
I handed it over
Looked around
Just me
The only one
Heartbroken
Never again
Trusted grown ups
