It was a record breaking heat wave in April when we visited the new High Line in Lower Manhattan.

We entered at 14th Street climbing the stairs. There is also an elevator option.

Exploring the new High Line there were lots of folks strolling, sun bathing or enjoying a picnic lunch.

A snack bar would surely do a thriving business. Perhaps it is in the planning stages. As are rest facilities.

The former train line is still under development. We looked through the fence to get an idea of just how the rail bed is filled in and planted.

This is a wonderful example of urban reuse design. An abandoned urban eye sore has been recycled into a ribbon of park. It was fun to explore vistas of the Hudson River and the New Jersey skyline. As well as to look down on the Chelsea gallery district.

Make this a must see during your next gallery visit. Bring snacks, a salad and hang out.
