Member Mondays: please note that, during Baby Animals, Mondays are Hancock Shaker Village Member Only Days (April 19, April 26, and May 3), 11 AM – 4 PM. Not yet a member? Join HERE. (If you are a family of four that visits twice a year and has a snack in the cafe, membership saves you money!)
For your safety: for the safety of visitors, staff, and the animals, please note that all safety guidelines must be observed. Masks are required for all visitors over 5 and encouraged for children ages 2-5. Visitors should maintain a physical distance of at least 6 feet (a cow’s length!) apart from other parties. Capacity limits in accordance with current Massachusetts COVID regulations will be enforced for all buildings, which have designated entrances and exits. One-way foot traffic through the Round Stone Barn and Dairy Ell will allow all visitors to safely visit with the animals. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of the animals, but no touching or petting will be permitted.
To allow enough time for your visit, please arrive at the village between 11am-3:15pm
Private Tours
Want some quiet one-on-one time with the baby animals? Book a private tour, offered daily during Baby Animals at 10 am. On your hour-long tour, you will meet the animals in the Round Stone Barn, Dairy Ell, and barnyard. Farmer Bill will share the delights of the farm and introduce you to this year’s calves, lambs, kids, piglets, and chicks. Following COVID safety guidelines, you will be able to pet some of the animals and even bottle-feed a calf! After the tour, you are welcome to re-visit the barn and explore the rest of the Village, which opens to the general public at 11 am. Please note that ONE tour will be given each day to a single group of up to 12 people of your choosing. Each tour will follow all current COVID guidelines, including those regarding proper masking and hand-sanitizing. For schools: Zoom with Baby Animals
School visits are a huge part of our educational programming here at Hancock Shaker Village. While we cannot allow group visits at this time, we have developed a virtual way to connect with your students through a Zoom session with our farm animals. Our lambs, calves, pigs, goats, chickens, donkeys, turkeys, ducks, and even our barn cat will be happy to see you!
