After breakfast
At Camp Winona
Cleaned up the tent
Made our beds
No dog’s ears underneath
Sheets hanging down
Neat hospital corners
Sweeping up
Everything orderly
For daily inspection
Award for Best Tent
I hated it
We never won
No fun doing that stuff
Not like home
Where the maid
Cleaned up
Tentmates mad at me
For screwing up
That morning
Went to the infirmary
Sore throat
Came home to our
One and only
Best Tent
Them glaring
Glory through
Absence
