Publisher & Editor. Charles was the director of exhibitions for the New England School of Art & Design at Suffolk University where he taught art history and the humanities. He taugh tModern Art and the Avant-garde for Metropolitan College of Boston University. After many years as a contributor, columnist and editor for a range of print publications from Art New England, Art News, the Boston Phoenix, the Boston Herald Traveler and Patriot Ledger, to mention a few, he went on line with Maverick Arts which evolved into a website.

In performances at Jacob's Pillow we were provided with an overview from the first Philip Glass music to be set to music North Star, from 1978, to a piece from the past year based on the modal jazz classic My Favorite Things by the John Coltrane Quartet. It was a sensual and evocative evening of modernist classicism. The company often evoked visual beauty, harmony, and an exuding joy of creative dance.

Like a lot of us he started out in the alternative weekly press of Boston/ Cambridge in the 1970s. Our paths crossed, and I had huge respect for him as a writer, but George was rough around the edges. He was at his best wallowing in the sloppy trough of the fight game.

Capping Incredible Tanglewood Weekend
By: - Jul 05th, 2011With a blaze of fireworks to celebrate the Fourth of July, yesterday James Taylor before a capacity 18,000 ended a slam dunk weekend of three concerts in the Shed at Tanglewood. He shared Friday night with John Williams and Pops. Then took a rest on Saturday yielding the stage to Garrison Keillor before a flat our appearances on Sunday and Monday. He also snuck in an "intimate" evening with Friends last Thursday at Ozawa Hall. Having all those folks at Tangelewood provided a fast launch to another fabulous Berkshire season.

The German/ Romanian artist, Elisabeth Ochsenfeld, has curated an exhibition of vintage, black and white photographs of leading American musicians by Charles Giuliano. The portraits have been enlarged and laminated for outdoor display during the Festivalul International de Jazz Garana, Romania July 21-24. Following the event the images will be donated to a museum in Garana.

Recently the film "White Irish Drinkers" which she directed and stars in was screened during The Berkshire International Film Festival (BIFF). She has directed the Michael Weller play "Moonchildren" which remains at Berkshire Theatre Festival through July 16. It's a win win for Allen and Berkshire audiences.
