Eclipse Mill Gallery: Spring Forward, until May 27

Part of ArtWeek Berkshires, 24

By: - May 16, 2024

ArtWeek Berkshires, a county-wide celebration, includes the Eclipse Mill's Gallery with Spring Forward: Recent Work from 27 Eclipse Mill Artists. The festival takes place from May 17-27, 2024 everywhere  and the Mill gallery will stay open throughout from 10 am to 6 pm.  Please join in the celebration!

As you can see above in the  photo series, the beautiful and diverse show contains works that speak to many visitors in different ways. It includes paintings, large and small; photography; exquisite woodwork and delicate pottery;  photographs and word installation; different collage pieces; and a colorful rainbow, a fiber art Centerpiece. Many of the works in the exhibition are for sale.

The Eclipse Mill gallery exhibits work by members of the community and invited artists throughout the year in month-long shows. On the first floor are also other venues: a Fine Arts Gallery, a pottery workshop and gallery, a book store,  'Somatic Performer,' as well as more studios. Then there are 10 studios on each of the other three floors, where artists participate in the current Open Studios on weekends. A poster at the entrance of the Mill will announce each studio with location. All floors have also works mounted long term on the corridor walls. And finally, there is a Dance Studio on the fourth floor with regular open to all movement and dance classes.

The Mill's June exhibition, Our Surreality Year: Michelle Wiley, 2020-21 & Astrid Hiemer, 2023-24,  from June 7 to July 7, will have an Opening on June 7 from 6 pm  to 8 pm. Lighthearted pieces and serious reminders of our lives during these years (mine still ongoing!) will be exhibited in various 'scenes' and collages, where we will celebrate nature, joy/wit, surrealism, and DADA. Again, you are invited to the Opening or during the course of the show!

Finally, here are a few other ways to enjoy and take part in ArtWeek. Please celebrate with us the Arts in the Berkshires for 10 long days!
