September Song

Reaping What We Sow

By: Charles Giuliano - 08/30/2014

September Song

Eons

September, 2014

Billions of years then to now

Calibrated to the birth of Christ

Celestial rotations

Earth a speck of sand in the beach of space

Yet again a time of harvest

Food from local farms

Until frost

Cool wet summer

Following a brutal winter

Global warming

Severe weather events

Rising oceans laced with mercury

Past the tipping point

From Venus of Willendorf to Selfies

Some 30,000 years more or less

Nest now fouled

Half life of our species in countdown

Just a matter of time

How many generations

Filled with greed and hate

Constantly at war home and abroad

Harvest for now

Then what

Used to dream that the bomb would be the endgame, but now it's just us. Nice one Charles, so much gone.
