A Holiday
As usual
We work anyway
Just don’t get paid
So much to do
No slacking off
Months and months
Nine to five

My life spelled out
Face-to-face
Evoking memories
This morning
Zap just like that
Screen went blank
Totally helpless
Turtle on back
Beached whale
Now what to do
Seems we lost power
For a few hours
An act of God
Gosh begorah
Made me stop working
On Labor Day
As you can see
Back at computer
Sauce simmering
A tasty Bolognese
From fresh tomatoes
Made a mess
Pots and pans
But labor of love
No trouble at all
Hunkered down
Home on a rainy day
